 This
year is my first season being coached. My team manager
Chris Truett has give me a constructed training program
and diet plan to stick to, which will help me with
my winter training for the next few months.
I am doing long steady rides with
my team at weekends, steady miles on my own during
the week. Every Thursday night I also do a mountain
bike ride with some of my team mates and friends,
which is a good break as well as being quite tough.
Every second weekend the team goto
Riverton fell to do some off road mountain biking
to keep our skill level up, as well as a hard work
out for three hours, which I find enjoyable. This
gives me the time to practise riding up hills and
off road which I need for the NPS this year. Aswell
as it being hard, but the café afterwards soon
make up for it, which my manager demands.
This is helping me keep my interest
up over the winter months, which are long and boring
in the cold wet winter weather sometimes.
Riding the bike during the week I also goto the gym twice
a week, to do some legs work and upper body strengh
exercises. This will hopefully help me improve my
strenght and stamina. I do about hour and a half each
session, doing small weights and lots of reps, this
is going well so far.
During the winter I have raced at
the Leisure Lakes series near Preston and have finished
1st twice so far which I am pleased with.
This year I am hopefully to compete
in the Mountain Bike National Points Series. The National
Junior Road Races series and other major races through
out the year. So far my manger has said he is please
with my progress and hopefully looking for the month
to come.
Good year from me.
